Today, we started in Liverpool and after a McDonald’s breakfast, we drove through an industrial section of town to get to the motorway that would take us to the M6. We cruised on that for a couple of hours, the speed limit is 70mph. Eventually, we got off the motorway (freeway) and drove through rural England on our way to Hadrian’s Wall. This wall was built by the Emperor Hadrian to keep the Scots out of Roman held England. Rome tried to invade Scotland, but they were rebuffed by the Scots two thousand years ago. The wall spanned coast to coast in Northern England, and had a fort every mile along the wall. This part of the wall is the longest intact section remaining of the wall, and the fort’s foundations are the most well preserved. Here I am acting goofy at the wall.
