I had a center cut sirloin, called a baseball steak. It was absolutely delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal at the Buckhorn.
Here’s a few stills of Monticello Dame from my birthday drive
After Marie made me a scrumptious breakfast this morning and we leisurely had our savory cup of coffee, we went for a drive to Lake Berryessa and ate at the Buckhorn in Winters. Enjoy the 13 minute clip
Marie and I have spent the last two weeks driving back and forth to Colorado Springs. I needed to refresh my cannabis supply, and we extended a few days to watch last week’s Raiders victory on national TV over Denver with Big James and Sean. I had a 3 day migraine while there, so we didn’t go out picture taking. Last Monday we headed home and we took our time. I thought I wanted to spend the weekend in Reno, so that’s what we did. Sadly in Elko, I got some kind of bug and I promptly threw up in the hotel room the morning get we left. Of course I’m too sick to drive far, so Marie took over. We got to Reno and I threw up again all over myself in the car. I’m not talking spit up, but full blown power vomiting. I managed to shower and climb into bed, where the uncontrollable diarrhea started. I had to have housekeeping change out all the bedding, they used gloves and masks, putting the soiled bedding in separate bags. This was last Thursday. Finally by Saturday, the anti-diarrhea pills took effect and yesterday I was able to keep food in me. Marie drove home and today I’m feeling a bit better. Breakfast was extra delicious today. While in Reno I wanted to get my Sandra tattoo fixed and go to the car museum. Well, none of this happened. Maybe next time.
Here’s the 20+ minutes of Coos Bay clips in one clip
Marie was up for a short car ride, so we cruised around the Delta for a bit before heading back to camp to beat the Labor Day traffic. Yesterday we had the usual at my brother’s house, and the traffic heading the other way was Friday backed up by 1500. I didn’t miss this traffic nonsense when we were in Texas.
George and I went to Val’s for lunch yesterday. We ate about 1530 or so, and there were only a few people there at that hour. We were eating and our server came by to check on us. We chatted a bit and she commented on how hot she felt. I immediately chimed in with, “Well, you’re standing next to me, of course this happens.” Our server thought about it a sec, and getting flustered was her reply. George and I laughed, after all, only Marie do I make hot. Our poor server did get a nice tip on our way out. Wednesdays is one of my days at the Buca, and we always eat at Val’s. The burgers are pretty good, George really loves them and they’re the benchmark for his burger judging.
