The A’s ownership group is the 4th richest in baseball. They could easily build their own stadium without taxpayer subsidy. I subscribe to http://WWW.field of schemes.com and if public stadium and operating subsidies rub you the wrong way, it makes for interesting reading.
The current Coliseum site is excellent for both driving and taking public transportation. Downtown stadiums are more difficult to get in and out of, we learned that lesson while visiting Baltimore in 2009.
Since I don’t attend my teams live events, again, it doesn’t matter where your team plays if you’re not seeing the live event in person. The A’s can leave right behind the Raiders, but there’s no place for the A’s to move to willing to give the team taxpayer funded freebies to move.
